Greg decides to stay another WEEK after Fowler flies back to Maine, leaving the bushmaster on his own on the Big Island of Hawaii. He puts a tropical spin on his bushcraft survival skills, building a HUGE boar trap, exploring the volcanic landscape, and familiarizing himself with the local people, animals, and plants. Join Greg on Part 2 of this adventure, as he continues to fall in love with this island paradise.
Greg is a self-taught survivalist from Canal Flats, British Colombia, who, since he was a boy, has read nearly every book on the topic. When he is not out in the wilderness, he is a professional dry-waller. He started his first bow drill fire when he was thirteen and spent the next forty years learning bushcraft and studying plants and edibles. He has even developed some of his own survival techniques and is a skilled hunter with both a bow and a slingshot.

I’m glad you had a great time in Hawaii uncle🤙🏻 next time you come I’ll take you shorefishing and put you on some good fish. I live in Kona as well. Aloha!
I make hand forged knives, and I think I would like to make one as a gift for you. If you could give me away to communicate privately with you so we can work out a design that would work best for you and get shipping info to be able to send it to you. Would just be awesome to see you use it in a video or two.
The Day of judgement What will it be like? video https://youtu.be/ttviqvfTBTg
I lived in hi for five years food every where hardly hard to survive there
Never too old or young for an adventure. Good stuff Greg
I remember this video because I laughed so hard when u showed the clip from that van dam movie ..love when he kicked his ass at the end of that movie lol great video
You can do better than that!
Lol and that's just Hawaii.!and you can't last a day without help
Do they have hibiscus bushes in Hawaii that would be good wood to start a fire on your drill
sorry but you can't get hypothermia in warm weather, do u even think before u speak Greg, u get hypothermia from being cold not warm
such a weird guy , I don't like people seeing me with the camera I like to be out if sight. that's that's bit suss Greg hahaha
Ur pig trap won't work Greg, what a waste of time money and effort, a pig will knock it over straight away once it realises its stuck
I swear Greg does not have a brain, great spot to set-up Ur bowdrill, I wonder how many times he had to go pick up his stick lol
that's a butternut pumpkin not a squash greg
Guessing the bow drill didn’t work because koa is also a hardwood? 🤷🏻♀️ also, it’s pronounced “kowah” ☺️ great attempt though in completely unfamiliar territory 👊 props!
Make the DaVinci bridge shelter!
Maybe someone already commented about the dogs. A lot of people hunt boars with a spear. They keep packs of dogs to track and corner the pigs.
Greg come to 🇸🇷 suriname
Bow drill……is the humidity, too high? Plus the wood, may be a little bit too wet?I don, t know!
A, for your effort, Gregg!👍
The more I watch your videos I notice your sense of humor, and your knowledge of wild plants, it is impressive! great video! I am amazed at the damage that the wild pigs do cause!
I'm not entirely sure but I think the Japanese or the Chinese have building structures like that by joining pieces together without other materials and they can withstand earthquakes of high magnitudes, google it Greg, awesome series and stay safe, stay awesome!!!
I love, Greg, how you integrate your primal nature with the technology you were bestown and make quality video of your "bush" lifestyle regardless of your locale… Keep up the good work and/but never lose sight your survival expertise.
I've gotta try your smoker curing recipe!
Come back big island can show u all dah places
Well done:)
Keawe wood
You are so easy to listen to
You are very interesting
I am new to your channel
Cheers
I would love to see more videos on different types of survival shelters!
Ya do the bridge shelter
Da Vinci bridge sounds like it would be a cool build sometime.
It’s ironic your last name is ovens because I’m not sure you’ve ever used one before 😂
Hell of a way to eat Lasagne.
Great video as usual. Big fan from Germany.
Fin is beautiful, We've got four Shepherds , they aren't for people that can't relate to them. You've had Fin long enough to know what I mean. Your an independent fellow that enjoys life. I love it.
